The Plan...Making a Difference
JOSHUA'S HEART FOUNDATION Thanksgiving Food Distribution to Help Needy Families
This year, Joshua's Heart Foundation will feed needy South Florida families during our monthly food distribution event. A great turnout is expected of more than 600 working poor and middle class families who are feeling the crunch. We hope that our Thanksgiving food distribution to these families will help ease their burden for at least a week. Turkey and more food will be distributed:
Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 10am-1pm 14250 North Miami Avenue, North Miami
A number of our families, some who have lost their jobs, are recommended by the North Miami Schools and others are sent by social workers from the different counties.
Our various efforts to help needy families include our Backpack Program, supplemental food boxes, distributing clothes to children, and also delivering food to the elderly and the sick.
Joshua's Heart Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-for-profit organization. Our mission is to "Stomp Out World Hunger", and the best place to start is right here in Miami Dade County.
Joshua's Heart Foundation empowers needy people to improve their quality of life by providing items of basic necessity and by effectively engaging and educating communities at home and abroad about committing to fight hunger and poverty on a global level.
Our sponsors this year are: The Dade Community Foundation, First Care Home Services, Udonis Haslem Childrens Foundation, National Pasturized Eggs (a Chicago company who is contributing a year supply of eggs), ILS Meals and Joshua's first school, Rainbow Montessori (who contributed $2,000 from a coin harvest and contribution from the school's director, Ms. Gila.) Different organizations and students are also collecting food items for Joshua's Heart this Thanksgiving.

I resolved to stop accumulating and to begin the infinitely more serious and difficult task of wise distribution.

President's Note
Fulfilling our Mission Today volunteers at JHF distributed over 600 turkey and 300 ham dinners to approximately 1,000 needy families in North Miami, Florida. When asked what he hopes for JHF in the coming year, Joshua Williams replied, "to continue our efforts to stomp out hunger"... Joshua was presented with a proclamation from the mayor of North Miami at the November distribution.
The Plan to "Stomp out Hunger" in our local communities, as well as on a global level is the mandate of our mission team. By engaging financial resources, both public and private, and providing community efforts, we can collectively confront hunger. - JHF
