Time: 8am-4pm *registration beginning at 7:30am
Location: RIDOT Training Center
360 Lincoln Avenue
Warwick, RI 02888

Who Should Attend: RIDOT employees and RIDOT consultants who are responsible for design of transportation projects. Municipal Public Works supervisors and engineers involved in roadway design or permit review will also find this useful.
Description: Linear transportation projects present unique challenges for design of stormwater management systems, especially when applying new LID standards within a limited right of way. This workshop will focus on using the new RI Stormwater Design and Installation Standards Manual to design typical projects RIDOT engineers are expected to encounter regularly. The morning session will provide an overview of the new stormwater manual. In the afternoon, case studies of current RIDOT projects will provide practice exercises for applying the new standards. Case study examples will include road re-surfacing, sidewalk replacement and road re-design.
Presenters: Training will be conducted by the Horsley Witten Group, authors of the RI Stormwater Design and Installation Standards Manual and guidance documents related to highway stormwater management, including the 2005 New York DOT guide, Stormwater Management Planning Guidance for Transportation Projects.
Please be sure to bring your copy of the RI Stormwater Design and Installation Standards Manual to the workshop.
