Greetings!
A stormwater education workshop for teachers and volunteers is being held on November 3rd, 2010. The training will make use of the EnviroScape Nonpoint Pollution model and provide participants with lesson plans associated with the model as well as non-model lessons that integrate stormwater concepts into the required educational standards of Rhode Island schools.

We encourage you to contact your local superintendent of schools and actively promote the attendance of teachers to this training as well as the use of the model and lesson plans.  Attendance alone will not give MS4s credit towards outreach and education, but the implementation and use of the resources in classrooms or other events will, especially if youth education becomes a permit requirement in the future. For assistance introducing stormwater education to your municipal's school district contact Shannon McManus: shannon_mcmanus@mail.uri.edu (401) 874-5687.
