This Month...
August 7: RACES Meeting - Moved This month's RACES meeting will be combined with CERT on August 14
August 14: CERT Meeting (6:30 - 8:30 PM)
Team site activations. We will activate two team site locations in west Anaheim for meetings. Report to those locations if it is your home site. If it is not your home site, choose one site to attend.
August 16: Fire Watch Training (6:00 -9:00 PM) We will be hosting a Fire Watch training course for all CERT/ RACES / VIPS volunteers on Thursday night, August 16th, 2012. 6-9pm at the Disaster Preparedness Office. Anaheim Fire Battalion Chief, Scott Berg, will be presenting. This training is required for all volunteers wishing to participate in Fire Watch this coming year. August 27: CERT Training Class CERT class begins. Mon. & Wed. from 5:30 - 9:30 PM August 27, 29, September 5 and September 8 from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Looking Ahead...
September 8: CERT Rodeo Skills Refresher (8:00 AM-4:00 PM)
The Anaheim Fire & Rescue Department staff will be on hand to provide a series of skills training refresher stations. All volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend. A portion of the training will combine with the CERT class that ends on 9/8 for a highly interactive afternoon drill. Please RSVP by calling (714) 765-6955.
September 11: CERT/RACES Training Meeting (6:30-8:30 PM)
Sgt. Pena has helped to arrange Active Shooter training for our combined CERT & RACES meeting.

Fire Watch Training

 Interested in Responding to Fire Watch Activations?
If you want to be called out to assist in Fire Watch Activations, your attendance at this training is expected. The training is scheduled for:
Thursday, August 16
6:00 - 9:00 PM
EOC Training Room
Instructor: Battalion Chief Scott Berg
All Anaheim volunteers who attend this training will be issued a special sticker to be placed on their badge as identification of having received required training.

Next CERT Training Class
The next Anaheim CERT Training class will be held starting August 27. The class will meet Mondays and Wednesdays (class will not meet on Labor Day) from 5:30 - 9:30 PM and on Saturday, September 8 from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

National Preparedness Month Campaigns

 Help us prepare our neighborhoods
Your help is sought in communicating a number of our preparedness campaign elements to members of your community! You can pick up fliers at the EOC and deliver them to your neighbors throughout the month. If you attend any local or neighborhood meetings, feel free to pass along the preparedness information as well.
