Volunteer Opportunities

Please call (714) 765-6955 or email cert@anaheim.net if you are available to assist with these upcoming volunteer opportunities:
Fire Services Day 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 7 North Net Training Center, 2400 E. Orangewood Ave. Help is needed with event set-up and staffing, assisting fire department staff with various tasks, hosting a booth for CERT and RACES and much more.
Fire Administration Office Weekday mornings or afternoons Help is needed with various clerical assignments.
CERT Training Class 8:00 am - 1:30 pm, Saturdays once a month North Net Training Center, 2400 E. Orangewood Ave. Classes are scheduled for the following Saturdays: April 2, May 14, June 11 and July 16. Help is needed with class registration, assisting with setting up and putting away class equipment. This is a great opportunity to review the class as a refresher.

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Canterbury region in New Zealand's South Island on Tuesday, February 22 at 12:51 PM local time (2351 on February 21 UTC). According to IARU Region 3 Disaster Communications Committee Chairman Jim Linton, VK3PC, 10 radio amateurs are using their two emergency broadcast vans to keep rescue teams and Civil Defense staff in touch. One is at a major welfare center, providing portable communication so they can talk to Civil Defense, and the other vehicle is on its way to assist search-and-rescue teams in an area where communication is poor.
