Greetings!

Welcome to the Volunteer E-Update; your monthly update on activities for the CERT, RACES and Fire Corps programs.
Welcome Chief Randy Bruegman
Anaheim Welcomes Our New Fire Chief

Chief Bruegman officially started his duties with Anaheim on Oct. 11. 
 
Bruegman comes to Anaheim from Fresno, where he served as Fire Chief from 2003-2010.  As Fresno Fire Chief, he led an agency providing service to 535,000 residents in the city and surrounding service districts, in a geographic region covering 350 square miles.  Bruegman's first Fire Chief position was in 1991 with the City of Campbell, Calif.  He has also served as Fire Chief in Hoffman Estates, Ill. and Milwaukie, Ore. before joining the Fresno Fire Department.  In addition, he has authored four books on leadership, organizational dynamics, change management and safety in the field of fire service.

This Month...

November 2Election Day Ballot Collection.  RACES will provide communication assistance and CERT may provide traffic direction.  Those interested in volunteering should contact Debbie (714) 765-6951.

November 9CERT Meeting at 6:30 PM at the Office of Disaster Preparedness.  We will review the various exercises this past month.

Looking Ahead...

December 17Holiday Potluck and Awards Dinner.   We will be hosting the annual holiday potluck and awards dinner at 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Downtown Community Center, 200 E. Center Street.

Thank you to all of the volunteers and staff who participated in this year's POD exercise at the Church of Jesus Christ - Latter Day Saints in Anaheim.  The exercise was a success with 505 vaccines delivered to the public!
