Welcome to the Volunteer E-Newsletter; your monthly update on activities for the CERT, RACES and Fire Corps programs.
This Month...

June 8: 
CERT and RACES Meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Office of Disaster Preparedness.  Guest Speaker, Deputy Fire Marshall Robert Nolan, will review the new Fire Department Ready-Set-Go program.

June 8:  Gubernatorial Primary Ballot Collection from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am. Volunteers are needed to assist with radio communications and traffic direction. Call (714) 765-6955 or email cert@anaheim.net to volunteer.

June 12: 
Downtown 5K Run from 7:00 am to Noon. Tentative public information booth and radio communication support for the run organizers. Email races@anaheim.net for additional information.

June 19: 
CERT Search and Rescue Drill (Team Captain Training) from 9:00 am to Noon. We will meet at Toyon Park to practice search and rescue organization and distribute fliers and information regarding the RACES Field day and Volunteer Expo.

June 26 & 27:  RACES Field Day and Volunteer Expo
from 8:00 am Saturday to Noon Sunday at Toyon Park. Join us for RACES Field Day radio communications and learn about the city's Citizen Corps volunteer programs. Disaster preparedness kits will be available for sale while supplies last. Volunteer Expo hours Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. For information call (714) 765-6955 or email cert@anaheim.net

July 6:  RACES Meeting from 6:15 to 8:15 pm at the Office of Disaster Preparedness.

July 13:  CERT Meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Office of Disaster Preparedness.

July 23-31: 
CERT Training Class.  Class meets Fridays from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Online RegistrationClass Flier.  Please call to volunteer with the class (714) 765-6955 or email cert@anaheim.net.
CERT Training
2010 Spring Thumbnail Anaheim Community Emergency Response Team Training

The CERT training is a 20-hour course approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and provides critical skills in emergency preparedness and response.  As a member of a CERT team, you can respond to disasters and participate in drills and exercises.

Friday, July 23 - Saturday, July 31
Fridays from 5:30 - 9:30 pm
Saturdays from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
