The Fire Corps program, formerly known as the Anaheim Reserve program, is expanding to include CERT and RACES volunteers with an interest in serving the Anaheim Fire department.  The CERT training class will be a prerequisite for volunteering through Fire Corps.  For more information on becoming involved with Fire Corps and the opportunities available, please email cert@anaheim.net or call (714) 765-6955.
Triangle of Life Myths
Help end bad information by not forwarding the "Triangle of Life" email that circulates the internet after most major earthquakes.
For years, an email entitled the Triangle of Life by Doug Copp has circulated the internet forwarded from one person to another.  These emails provide false and unsafe information.  While Doug Copp is indeed a real person, his background and expertise is questionable.

For accurate information on what to do in an earthquake please visit:  www.shakeout.org.

Additionally, you may read the response from the American Red Cross regarding the false information provided in the triangle of life email:  http://www2.bpaonline.org/Emergencyprep/arc-on-doug-copp.html
ACF Foundation Fundraising for the CERT and RACES Program

As many of you are aware, the City of Anaheim and Fire Department have sustained a number of cuts to help balance the City's budget and eliminate our dependence upon reserve funds.  Next fiscal year will require additional cuts to the budget.

In order to protect the CERT and RACES programs we will be more active in fundraising throughout the year.  Please contact our office if you are interested in joining the fundraising committee.  You can help by forwarding the information below in support of the CERT and RACES programs.

Are you interested in donating to the Anaheim Community Foundation on behalf of the Anaheim Fire-CERT program?  The Anaheim Community Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible.  You will be provided with a receipt for tax purposes and receive recognition in our quarterly newsletter.

Please make checks payable to "Anaheim Community Foundation Fire-CERT" and forward to:
Fire Department Office of Disaster Preparedness, 500 E. Broadway Ave., Anaheim, CA 92805
