6th Annual Legends of the Ball a Success!
We may be in the midst of a recession, but those who attended the 6th Annual Legends of the Ball may have questioned that fact for a few hours on September 10th. More than 500 people filled the Roxy in support of Good Sports and our effort to make sure every child has the opportunity to participate in youth sports. NESN's Tom Caron and WEEI's Glenn Ordway emceed the event, with West Roxbury native and Red Sox reliever Manny Delcarmen taking home the coveted Good Sport in Sports award. There were even surprise appearances by Red Sox teammates Nick Green and Victor Martinez, both of whom came out to support their teammate and auction off a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play a game of Wiffle ball with Green and Martinez in the lucky winner's backyard.
By night's end Good Sports had raised over $100,000! We simply could not have done this without the support of everyone who attended and those who were unable to make it but still made a financial contribution. Thank you to everyone who helped make the night possible and we look forward to continuing to make a difference with all of you in the future! To see photos from that night, CLICK HERE.

Kevin Faulk Teams Up with Good Sports
On September 22nd, three-time Super Bowl Champion and Patriots running back Kevin Faulk helped Good Sports make a donation of basketballs to the Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester. An avid basketball player himself, Faulk played a game of one-on-one and signed an autograph for each child.
This donation was done in conjunction with a raffle Faulk was holding for Good Sports. The lucky winner was able to have a meet-n-greet with the Patriots veteran in addition to receiving an all-expense-paid trip to London to see the Patriots play this past Sunday. In total the raffle raised more than $12,000 for Good Sports, so thank you to everyone who purchased tickets!

We Need Your Help!
On Thursday, November 12th, Good Sports will be stuffing envelopes for our annual appeal to our donors. This is very important because private donations go a long way in helping us to achieve our mission of making sure inner-city youth have access to athletic opportunities.
If you're available that evening we would love your help in this project. We plan to stuff envelopes from 5:30-8:00pm and will be providing pizza and beverages for all volunteers. If you would like to help but have to come late or leave early, we still encourage you to do so.
