Last Chance to Run the Boston Marathon® for Good Sports!
Whether you're a seasoned marathon competitor, or looking to make the jump from casual to serious runner, Good Sports can provide you the opportunity to run one of the most famous marathons in the world!
Good Sports has a limited amount of numbers available for the 2009 Boston Marathon, and we're looking for motivated and hard-working runners to represent our organization. It's no secret these numbers can be tough to come by, and all Good Sports asks in exchange for this opportunity is your efforts in fundraising to help support our cause in making sure disadvantaged youth receive the equipment they need to participate in sports.
If you're interested in running, please fill out the attached application as soon as possible. Additionally, if you have any questions about what will be required of you, feel free to contact Davin at dlencz@goodsports.org. |
| Good Sports Holds First Ever Soccer Donation Day
Last month, Brine generously donated more than 4,500 shin guards, 2,300 soccer balls, and 1,200 goalie gloves to Good Sports. As a result, Good Sports was able to hold its first ever soccer donation day. Organizations from all over Massachusetts and Rhode Island came down to take part in the event. At day's end, 20 organizations serving more than 6,300 youth brought home nearly 4,000 pieces of soccer equipment. Special thanks to Brine for making this day possible. |

New England Patriots Player Eric Alexander Helps to Tackle Declining Participation
When Good Sports recently donated over $10,000 worth of new helmets and shoulder pads to Cambridge Pop Warner's football team, Eric Alexander, a Good Sports supporter and linebacker for the New England Patriots, generously donated his time to help hand out the equipment to the young players. Cambridge Pop Warner had long been in search of new equipment to replace their old and unsafe inventory. With this donation, Good Sports provided Cambridge Pop Warner the opportunity to safely equip every player who wishes to participate and learn the game of football. |
