Mortgage rates have recently ticked down to their lowest levels in forty years. If you have a mortgage and have not refinanced in the past two years, consider doing so now. We have seen clients recently lock-in rates around 4.25% for a 30-year fixed loan under the jumbo limit of $417,000 (with no points and no closing costs). If you can handle the higher payments, consider a shorter 15-year fixed mortgage - those rates are running approximately 3.75%. Whoever expected to see mortgage rates in the 3-4% range?
