Fundred Sous Terre Truck is on the Road!
January 18th 2010, the National Day of Service, the Sous Terre Truck embarked on its cross country journey to pick up your precious Fundred Dollar Bills!
Behind the wheel
We are please to introduce you to the intrepid driver of the Sous Terre Truck, Mr. Tory Tepp.
Tory approaches his responsibility as the Fundred Driver with a sense of respect equaled only by his enthusiasm: br>
As an artist and a traveler, connecting to every region of the country, geographically, experientially and emotionally is filled with rich and boundless possibilities for new experiences. The potential offered by this nation wide pick-up in the Sous Terre Truck is exhilarating and it is an honor to be considered for the position. Although a demanding duty; it is also a once in a lifetime opportunity. As an artist and seeker I am privileged to make a contribution to this single, monumental action; for art, for adventure, for New Orleans.--Tory Tepp
Something about Tory
With a BFA from Parsons School of Design where his interests concentrated on non-traditional art history, his artistic practice evolved from painting to a focus on large scale earthwork and horticulture-based sculptures. Fundred and Operation Paydirt are a perfect fit for Tory's artistic talents.
Fast Forward: After completing his Masters of Fine Arts in Public Practice from Otis College of Art and Design and 6 trips across the country, Tory moved from Los Angeles to New Orleans. With his practical skills he began assisting with the many details of preparing the Sous Terre Armored Truck for its cross country journey. As luck would have it, this was about the same time the Fundred Team began looking for a for a calm, cool and collected truck driver. The abridged version of the advertisement read:
The Fundred Dollar Bill Project is seeking a special driver to carry the special creative cargo from New Orleans to Washington D.C. This is a 6 month operation involving a nationwide road trip to pick up art "cash" from over 125 designated "Collection Centers" located across the United States. Driver's responsibilities range from operation and care of the armored truck and veggie oil fueling, to public speaking and project documentation. Driver must be clever, flexible, resourceful and quick; patient enough to deal with traffic, weather and other special circumstances while determined enough to arrive at destinations in a timely manner.
After searching high and low for an appropriate driver to represent the project he was right in front of us! Tory rocks!!! We are thrilled he is representing Fundred.
Please welcome Tory the Fundred Truck Driver when he finds himself in your town!
