Calamus wins again at the

Ontario Wine Awards

Our Winemaker's talent was honoured once again at the Ontario Wine Awards in June. Our 2009 Pinot Gris won a Gold Medal and our 2009 Special Select Late Harvest Vidal won a bronze. These awards are a true testament to the quality of our vineyard and the skills of Arthur Harder - congratulations and many thanks Arthur.

Join us to celebrate our 5th Birthday

We've come a long way since our doors first opened in July 2006. Many of you remember our tiny tasting room and limited supply of really good wine at really good prices. Come to the winery July 16 & 17 to celebrate with us. We will have 4 tasting stations around the property each with a new release and food sample to match. Wander through the winery, vineyard and up on the decks sampling food and wine along the way. For $10 you get 4 tickets, each ticket is good for 1 food and wine sample or 2 tickets for a glass of wine. .

New releases will include - our Cosmic duo - 2009 Cosmic White and 2008 Cosmic Red, 2009 Pinot Noir and 2010 Pinot Gris.

In addition for the 5th anniversary only our 2006 Meritage will be $5 off.

There is still time to be entered into our Cosmic contest on Facebook. Get the latest news, photos and fan comments by "liking" Calamus. All Calamus "likes" will be entered into a draw for a case of Cosmic and a private evening of star gazing in the observatory for 6. Cosmic is our new line of red and white blends designed to launch you to another galaxy. The winner will be announced at the 5th anniversary celebration on July 16 & 17.

More winery events coming in August...

Mark your calendars now for our 5th Anniversary Winemaker's Dinner on Thurs.. Aug. 11 at 6:30 to be held in the "very cool" event room - we have installed air conditioning!! This dinner will feature several wines from our wine library - a walk down memory lane. Tickets are $90 per person - please contact the winery to reserve your spot.

Our next Jazz night will be on August 25th - details will be available soon.
