Join us Dec. 4 and 5 for our annual
Christmas Open House
Take some time from your busy schedule to visit wine country and the welcoming warmth of our 19th century barn. We invite you to visit between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. both days to enjoy seasonal treats in our event room. There will be pre-release samples of our 2007 StarStruck, 2009 Late Harvest Vidal and our 2008 Calamus Red. Enjoy a special food pairing with our 2008 Semi-Sweet Riesling and 2008 Calvin's Cab - both wines are on special for the month of December.
Internationally renowned artist David T. Wright will be on hand both days exhibiting some of his beautiful work. David and his wife Sandra are Calamus neighbours and much of his new inspiration is local. David T, Wright
Steve Byfield will also be in the event room with his Nyarai Cellars wine. A great opportunity to try the product of his virtual winery before you purchase.

The tasting room is open, as usual, 11:00 to 5:00 for the Open House weekend. |

New Releases and Holiday Specials
We are targeting mid-December for the release of our very first sparkling wine ~ StarStruck. StarStruck will have you seeing stars - a lovely Riesling sparkler from the 2007 vintage. There is a limited amount and we suspect it will be big hit!! Our 2009 Late Harvest Vidal will be released at the same time. Watch for our 2008 Calamus Red release in January. Wines

2007 Reserve Riesling available at the LCBO
It's gone from the winery, but you can still buy it at the LCBO. Gord Stimmel gave it 89 points in his August review and chose it as one of his "fab five" for quality and value. Visit us during the Icewine Festival
We will be offering another fabulous food and Icewine pairing during all three of the Icewine Festival weekends - Jan. 15 & 16, 22 & 23 and 29 & 30. It will be worth the detour.
Mark your calendars for the next Calamus Winemaker's Dinner on Sat. Jan. 22 starting at 6:30. Our dinners at the winery have been "sold out" events so contact us early if you would like to attend. A full menu will be available soon.

Holiday Hours
We will be open December 20 - 24 11:00 to 5:00 p.m. - lots of extra hours to stock up on your favourite Calamus wines for Christmas. For New Year's - come visit us from 11:00 - 5:00 Dec. 30 & 31 if you need to re-stock to ring in the New Year. We close Dec. 25 and re-open Jan. 7th. Check the website for up to date tasting room hours for January through March, or simply call the winery to book an appointment. |
