A TRIBUTE TO ART WAINWRIGHT
His legacy lives on in more ways than one

A celebration of life for long time Nature Trust supporter Art Wainwright took place in July. In 1996, Art donated 83 acres in the Cawston area in the South Okanagan to The Nature Trust. South Okanagan Land Manager Carl MacNaughton remembered a special man: "I've had the pleasure of spending time on Art's property every year in a land management capacity. I would invite everyone to visit Art's donated land and recognize this special riparian area. A permanent gift to the community, it is a place where people can commune with nature and feel good, knowing that this land will always be there for birds and animals to live, and for people to appreciate. This is Art's legacy; both in the land that he has protected, and in the lives that he has touched with his friendship and generosity."
TAKING NATURE'S PULSE

BioBC Logo
We are proud to recognize the work of our Habitat Ecologist, Marian Adair, and Directors Dr. Geoff Scudder and Jim Walker, and past Director Dr. Daryll Hebert who were instrumental in publishing a special report called Taking Nature's Pulse. With input from government and non-government organizations, this report provides a comprehensive science-based assessment of the current condition of biodiversity in BC. No one group, organization, company or government alone can do the job of protecting BC's biodiversity. By working together to meet urgent biodiversity conservation needs, we can find solutions that will provide long-term protection for BC's economic and social well-being as well as our natural legacy. BOUNDARY BAY CLEAN UP

Boundary Cleanup
Thanks to the 40 people who joined us in June for the clean up at Boundary Bay in Delta where The Nature Trust has a special conservation property. Volunteers from HSBC Bank Canada, The Nature Trust, and local naturalist groups gathered at the 72nd entrance to the dyke to remove debris from this internationally renowned location on the Pacific Flyway. We greatly appreciate all who donated their time to helping out! Pictured here is the garbage collected including a giant piece of styrofoam.

IT'S YOUR CHOICE!
What did you do with your $100?

Are you still trying to find a way to spend that $100 climate action dividend you received in the mail last month? One choice is to donate it to The Nature Trust (www.naturetrust.bc.ca). We have been working hard since 1971 to conserve the biological diversity of British Columbia.
