WHOLE FOODS LOCAL PRODUCER LOAN PROGRAM
|
In just two years, Whole Foods Market has provided $2.5 million dollars in low-interest loans to small, local producers through its Local Producer Loan Program.
So far, Whole Foods Market has provided almost 50 low-interest loans to local producers throughout the U.S., with an additional 20 applications pending. Loan recipients have included organic vegetable farmers, a heritage turkey grower, a producer of natural body care products, and a host of artisan food producers. Applications for loans are accepted on a rolling basis, so the doors are still open despite the nation's credit crunch! See the program's success for yourself.
