Dear ,
Do you believe in magic? Do you think that all things are possible, and that you deserve to be happy and fulfilled? Do you truly have faith in your abilities to have what you want? Do you believe in manifesting your dreams, visualizing your future and having great things happen in your life? Do the "inexplicable things" sometimes happen in your life and you are dazzled and amazed that it could turn out so well?
I think magic is everywhere. I see it in not just the thrilling big things that can happen such as when romantic love reaches a new level of commitment or when I am asked to consult on a big project that uses my coaching and writing skills, but mostly I experience magic in the mundane everyday moments. When my daughter gives me a hug, or my son awakens me with a song on his Ipod that reminds him of me (this morning it was the Backstreet Boys song, "The Perfect Fan").... that feels like magic. When my partner calls to tell me how much he loves me and appreciates me, it feels enchanting. When a client reaches what seems like an impossible goal, yet things happen quickly due to their belief, intentionality, focus, perseverance and the magical "it all just fell into place" moments.. I know the inexplicable has happened in both their lives and mine because I am a witness to it. When another client says to me, "Thank you for being on my path with me and I hope you like working with me," and I realize that I anticipate and look forward to my consistent connection with that person each week, it is wonderfully fulfilling. And even when it is snowing AGAIN, I am still captivated by the beauty that is created. Those are all breathtaking moments when my heart skips a beat; I feel alive and KNOW that magic exists.
As a coach I have to admit, I talk a lot about manifesting dreams, setting intentions, visualizing the best possible future, breaking barriers, going beyond the current reality in order to have a life better than the one that currently exists. I ask my clients to believe in the possibility that their best version of themselves and believe that something fantastic exists for them. I challenge them to take responsibility and action to attain more joy and happiness in their lives. This is fulfillment coaching, and it is a common theme for this modality of self improvement.
For the past seven (going on eight) years that I have been a coach, I have seen magic happen in my clients lives as they go from hoping something will change to believing in it, doing the work and then seeing their worlds expand beyond what they could have imagined. Their self-confidence soars and big things start to happen. I have assisted my clients in going for their dreams by inspiring, questioning, pushing, prodding, and even demanding, they go for their goals. And when they have been stuck due to fear, doubt or lack of self-trust, I have continued to believe in them and hold them up in a BIG way. I have witnessed amazing results as people have found true love, re-ignited the creative pursuits, started businesses (see my featured client, Stu Davidson, and his story below!), and have rediscovered themselves, their value and their sense of purpose. I am awed by what I witness each and everyday.
However, I must confess something to you. When it came to me, I am not sure I always believed it that I could have achieve everything that I hoped for. I had confidence in most life areas such as the ability to manifest in my business and life's work, the quality of my relationships with family and friends, my role as a mother, my skills in overcoming challenges, my love of beauty, learning and moving forward regardless of life circumstances. But for a few years, I questioned whether love was really out there for me. I said I believed it, I hoped for it, I thought I was showing up for it, kept dating and being open to the possibility of a wonderful life partner but I had my doubts. It was not until I returned to coaching last March and did the work over several months to look at my own limiting beliefs, re-define what I wanted, and set new standards that I had my "ah ha" moment that I had not FULLY believed in love for myself, at least not completely. It was after this revelation that my fairy tale happened. Last fall, I reconnected with an old friend I had known since middle school and he is now my fiancé. (I am saving the full story for February-so stay tuned.) So, my point is to fully embrace what you want, BELIEVE you can have what your heart desires, do your work to be open and ready to receive it, and then get started taking action to make it happen. Believe in an incredible life and watch the magic unfold.
