Dear ,
Happy
New Year... not only are we beginning a new year, but also a new decade. I love
these transitory times, as they allow us to consider where we have been, what
we have learned, make adjustments and get going again with a renewed sense of
energy and enthusiasm. I am constantly reminded by my clients and
personal experiences of how much we can accomplish when we put our mind to it. As I enter the 7th year
of my Life Coaching practice, I now know... you can't give what you do
not have for yourself. You can't give what you do not believe in. You
can't be authentically effective if you don't understand who you
are and the impact you make on others. You can't keep faking it. You must
be fierce for yourself, your family, and the things you care about.
I believe everyone is creative,
resourceful and whole; and they have the answers within themselves. In order to achieve life success, it
starts with you and your ability to take personal responsibility for your own
self-care and happiness. As humans, we are enormously powerful
(and powerless at times), yet, we do not always have the awareness, tools or "confidence
to move boldly in the direction of our dreams," to quote Eleanor Roosevelt.
So,
this year I want to challenge you to be brave, to find ways to tap into your
own use your internal resources, gifts, values, strengths, and talents, basically
everything you've got, to wildly create bliss, meaning, gratitude and joy
in your life. Open
yourself up to new possibilities, and consider "Powering Up Your Purpose." After all,
personal power is not something you get from things or other people, it is
something that already exists within yourself. And when you learn how to access
your personal power, you can become unstoppable. This year I will share with
you how to find your purpose and each month I will highlight a way to Access Your
Personal Power, the first being, The Power of Self.
The Power of Self is about BEING YOU, not your audience.Know who you are, what your VALUES are, what
you stand for, your essence. Claim your likes and dislikes. Don't let
others define you. BE WHO YOU ARE.
- Dr. Sonya
Friedman said, "The greatest gift you will ever have is your life,
and the second greatest gift - which you give yourself - is courage to
live it to the fullest. Time goes by quickly, and you cannot take
it for granted. Appreciate how far you have come, and give yourself the
gift of discovering how far you can yet go."
- "The important
thing is to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could
become." Charles Dubois
- Rumi wrote, "Everyone
has been made for some particular work and the desire for that work has
been put in his or her heart."
- Mahatma Gandhi believed,
"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
What makes you uniquely you? What do you have
to offer the world, that no one has? What is important to YOU? What does a life lived
authentically look like for you? I encourage you to spend some time
considering these answers. Feel free to share with me by email anything you
learn about the unique you.
