Dear ,
I first want to say thank
you for your continued support of Excavive and the impact that my work is able
to make in the lives of many. I am grateful that I get to wake up everyday
excited about serving the people who are before me, through client appointments,
people I meet while I am out in the world, audiences that hear me speak or
people who read my columns and newsletters. I am truly blessed that I do work
that I love while serving others and empowering people to be their best.
AND, as much as I love what I do, I find that it is challenging to
maintain consistent self-care and create the time and space to do all that I
want to. So, I have created a few rituals for myself that I hope will be
helpful to you.
First, I begin my day with prayer, meditation and gratitude. Kent Nerburn said
"Something is lost if we rush headlong into the details of life without
pausing for a moment to pay homage to the mystery of life and the gift of
another day." I acknowledge what I am grateful for and get grounded to
letting the day unfold as it needs to. I try to make everyday my own personal
"thanksgiving."
Next, I have a list of the "10 Daily Habits" to take really, really,
really good care of myself. A few things on my list include eating breakfast;
saying my morning gratitudes; daily movement/exercise; 15 minutes of planning
time 1st thing; a short rest mid-day; connecting with a friend outside of my
work; getting rid of something that I no longer need (I usually empty my trash
cans); and doing one "pamper me" thing each day. For a copy of my
Excavive Daily Habits form, click here.
Finally, I am changing my perspective on "time," and seeing it as an
asset to protect, nurture and value, as opposed to something that is scarce or
a race to see how much I can accomplish. I am finding a better flow, taking
more time off and my life is becoming richer, fuller and better balanced. My
monthly column is titled, "Time is On Your Side" and gives some additional
perspectives on how to bring more peace and harmony in your life around the
issue of time.
I invite you to excavate your life this month by thinking about how you can
best take care of yourself and use your time to better work for you.

Excavive Client Success
"Jennifer helped me in the transition from being
'a mother with a part time job' to prioritizing my time and talents to take a
private practice that had been languishing to the next level. She used
insight and wisdom to help me clarify and focus my values and passions into a
vision for authenticating my life's purpose. Encouragement and praise are nice,
but I found the practicality of the plans and strategies she helped me work out
were most worthwhile. Those days when you don't feel like working become
lessons in examining what's happening internally and externally to re-align
with your goals and figure out what's needed to be on track and soon you are
more adept at knowing what you need and when. Balancing family and self is a
struggle for lots of women and Jennifer's passion and talent for helping
everyone be better, authentic versions of themselves is remarkable."
