Greetings!
It's hard not to notice Valentine's Day right now. When I go
into Starbucks every morning, there are mugs with hearts on them and cute gift
cards for that special someone. I have received my annual mailing from
Godiva enticing me with photos of the beautiful boxes of chocolate. My children
have already asked me what night we are having our annual candlelight "Heart
Dinner"- everything is shaped like a heart (Heart-shaped hamburgers, heart
shaped pasta, the heart cake for dessert and the good-for-your-heart broccoli.)
It's a tradition I love with them. And, one of my friends is having a couples
Valentine's Day cocktail party that I plan to attend.
I love Valentine's Day and what it represents- the idea of
having full permission to express your feelings for someone you care about,
appreciate, have a crush on or just want to get to know a little better. It can
be a partner (or potential mate), a friend, a child or even yourself. And, I
wonder, why wait until a certain time of year to find the courage, have an
excuse, let down barriers or even just get in touch with those feelings of
love, passion and romance? Why not embrace love, passion and romance all of the
time, every day?
I want to fully love all the people I care about with
appreciation, love and respect. I want to find common connection and feel alive
by taking the time to play in my passions. That is something I do through
inspiring others to own their magnificence; deeply connecting with others;
expressing my creativity through coaching, writing and speaking; and creating
beauty in my external and internal worlds. And as for romance, I have to fully
admit that I love the small, tender moments and expressive words that create
openness, intimacy, laughter, fun and pleasure. I am a sappy romantic at heart!
So, what better time than now to experience and express
love, romance and passion? What do you need to say or do, who do you need to
say it to and what result do you want to create? I challenge you to
express your love to others now and each and everyday.
