Guard Introduces it's New Vision-MTM
 Vision-MTM is a new thermoplastic material ideal for definitive orthotic and prosthetic devices.
Vision-MTM is:
- Optically Clear
- Equivalent to co-polymer with regard to
- Structured integrity
- Flexural modulas
- Rigidity
- Enhanced impact strength
- Ease of forming, adjusting and finishing
Vision-MTM offers patients with its optical clarity advantage over polypropylene or co-polymer. 
- Offers the patient with a support system that goes unnoticed.
- Patients skin color or sock colors appears through the device
- Patient compliance is improved dramatically
- The patient now gets the benefits of a support system as it goes visually unnoticed.
Vision-MTM offers to the Orthotist or technician:
- Ease of fabrication and edge finishing with conventional methods and flame polishing
- Pressure areas can be viewed through the device offering more accurate evaluations
- Appropriate for definitive AFO, KAFO, HKAFO, spinal, cervical and upper extremity applications for orthotics and prosthetics
- Vision-MTM, which is formed at 340oF can also incorporate any type of sublimation transfers, and comes in 3/16" thickness only.
- You can sand, glue & rivet to it
- Using a heat gun in tight areas for relief
- It will bond to carbon plates
- You can foam line it
- It holds up to pressure & torque yet consistently returns to its original form

Vision-MTM Testimonial It's exciting to finally have available the first optically clear thermoplastic material for definitive orthotic applications.
Vision-MTM has been used successfully in our practice for patients requiring spinal, cervical, lower & upper extremity orthotics. We have found it to possess equivalent characteristics as copolymer used in industry today. The advantages over copolymer are obviously inherent in the clarity of the material, pressure areas can be viewed through the device & finally an orthotic support system can go unnoticed.
Technically, Vision-MTM vacuum forms at only 340oF and is easier to manipulate & polish than conventional materials.
It also requires lower temperatures when adjusting, leaving no evidence of any alterations.

Vision-MTM Is Available In These Standard Sizes

All sheets are 3/16" in thickness
The only cases when Vision-MTM may not be indicated is for patients who exhibit hypertonicity or situations which put the device under extreme tensile forces. The cold flow characteristics, may inhibit long term use in these isolated cases. |
