REAL-ESTATE
Many of you know that I just spent the last 3 weeks taking the Georgia Real estate class. This was quite a learning experience for me. One of the biggest things I learned was the Fair Housing Law. I thought I had a good understanding of this law but I learned a lot and I will go over just a few things here but I plan on putting together a 3 or 4 hour seminar with all the information needed to help investors and Real Estate agents understand this law and save them big headaches.
What Is Prohibited?
In the Sale and Rental of Housing: No one may take any of the following actions based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or handicap:
Refuse to rent or sell housing
Refuse to negotiate for housing
Make housing unavailable
Deny a dwelling
Set different terms, conditions or privileges for sale or rental of a dwelling
Provide different housing services or facilities
Falsely deny that housing is available for inspection, sale, or rental
For profit, persuade owners to sell or rent (blockbusting) or
Deny anyone access to or membership in a facility or service (such as a multiple listing service) related to the sale or rental of housing.
This is just the beginning of what Fair Housing Law covers. In the seminar we will put a complete program together so you can have an understanding of the law.
If you would like to attend this seminar or have one in your area please e-mails me at paul@pauljdacosta.com and we can work out the details.
