Marketing Your Business

August is already here, and there are only 5 months left in 2008. It's time to reevaluate your goals. Take a couple of hours and pull out your goals for this year. Look at them and make the necessary tweaks. Where are you in meeting these goals? How many have you completed? Have you met your income goals? Marketing goals? Time with your family? And time for you? How about that vacation you wanted? Now that your mind is going full speed, whom do you know that you can joint venture with, to help meet your goals and help them meet theirs? Look at your products or services. Can you piggy back them onto someone else's  service or product to benefit both of you? Here are a few examples: Do you know anybody who is into Multi-level marketing? These people by nature are highly responsive. They get it, so if you are an Accountant you can help them understand the home office laws and other related expenses that may benefit them. If you are a real-estate investor, learn how a self directed IRA may be a great tool for some people interested in this venture. Doctors, lawyers, accountants and other professional people would love to be in Real-Estate but not have the day to day hassles it involves. You can and will be the go-to person for this. How about teaming up with a marketing professional, trading your product or services for their marketing expertise. Think of ways to generate a new partnership or a new joint venture! Don't wait for someone to come to you!!

It's not too early to start looking towards 2009. Education should be a top priority for you. Pick a few programs and make plans to attend them. Make a list of the people you would love to work with. Have a plan to show them that working with you will benefit them and their customers. And my final thought on goals for this month: Making goals and not following them, not working towards them, is a waste of time. Tell everybody your goals so you can be held accountable for meeting them. If you would like help with your goals please call me at 941-716-2597. Have a great month. Paul

HUB

HUB

Every now and then an opportunity comes your way that you just have to  get involved with. That's what happened to me with HUB (Humanity Unites Brilliance) One of my business friends told me about HUB and I knew this was a no-brainer. The first thing that got me fired up was the goal of giving to the world in need. Some of the charities they work with are FEED THE CHILDREN , RAIN CATCHER, GREEN CHILDREN, CHILD OF DESTINY and YOUTH ACTION INTERNATIONAL. They also are involved in the importance of using MICROCREDIT to improve the lives of over 190 million women by over 3,000 agencies . HUB is also working hard right here in the USA, helping organizations like Inner City Spring Break Outreach, Pachamama Symposium and FEED333.  I liked knowing how membership in HUB helps others.  Every month I help feed 3 people, educate 3 people, provide clean water for 10 people and provide training for 16 people.  That means I help 32 people!!  As a member of HUB I also receive training from some of the best personal trainers in the business, Mark Victor Hansen, Marcie Martin and Jack Canfield, and that's just the beginning.  Now you can see why I'm so excited about HUB. Take a few minutes and check out the web site:

 BOOK OF THE MONTH

   OUTSMART
BY
JIM CHAMPY

Jim Champy is a leading management and business thinker. His best seller, Reengineering the Corporation, is the 'bible' if you want to change your business. His second book, Reengineering  Management, was recognized by Business Week as one of the most important books of its time. The stories in Outsmart tell of ordinary people who see opportunity where others don't. Champy gives us 8 examples of ways to succeed: 1) Compete by seeing what others don't; 2) Compete by thinking outside the bubble; 3) Compete by using all you know; 4) Compete by changing your frame of reference; 5) Compete by doing everything yourself;  6) Compete by tapping the success of others; 7) Compete by creating order out of chaos; 8) Compete by simplifying complexity. I won't go into detail on all these topics but will highlight a few so you get the idea. The first one is 'Compete  by seeing what others don't.' The entrepreneur is a guitarist who never made it in that field, but found a niche as a talent agent. He founded Sonicbids in Boston. It ranks number 88 on INC Magazine's list of 5000 privately held businesses. In 2007 revenues were $8 million. By making use of technology he found a way to connect musicians and bands with promoters who needed talent. 10,000 promoters and 120,000 musician members can connect easily. He is now expanding to other markets, jugglers and magicians, actors, models and writers are now members as well. The next entrepreneur used the success of others to create millions for  himself.  How many of
you own a pair of CROCS? Some of the most obvious features are the holes on the tops of them. This entrepreneur got the bright idea to put a flower in the holes. He then tried other things and people loved it. So he set up a company patenting the idea and started a company in the garage. As orders came in they had to move to a warehouse. By summer of 2006 they had 40 employees and their product was offered in 3,300 stores in the U.S. and hundreds more in Europe. By October of 2006 the maker of CROCS offered them $ 10 Million for their company. Not bad for a idea that started at the kitchen table. These are just two people who had an idea and ran with it. There are more examples in the book and this is a must own for any size business owner

Everyday, ordinary people have extraordinary ideas, but never act on them. You owe it to yourself and your family to act!!

MONEY MAKING IDEAS???

In June I talked about ways to diversify your income. I discussed working with partners and doing joint ventures, tele-seminars with your product and other peoples' lists, or your list and other peoples' products. Join networking groups; they are a good source of leads.
One other place you should be looking is Multi Level Marketing. There are quite a few good companies available,  with great products. Some MLM's have fantastic training, and are a good way to network for your other business relationships.
So just don't pooh pooh MLM's. Take the time to look over some of the programs that are out there. If you are involved in a great MLM,  please let me know via e-mail,
.I will put together a list and pass it on to my readers.
Also, would you please pass on the names and contact information of anyone that you feel would enjoy my newsletter. Thanks you for your help you can send the information to me at
