PROPERTY TAX VOTE On October 29, 2007 the legislature concluded Special Session D to deal with property tax reform and presented its plan which includes:   *Ensuring Save Our Homes portability, up to $ 500,000 (reduced from $ 1 Million).   *Doubling the $ 25,000 homestead examption.   *Tangible personal property exemption of $ 25,000 (for businesses).   *10% cap on assessments for non-homesteaded property.   School taxes are exempt from all of the above amendments.   This is expected to save the average homeowner about $ 250.00   Each and every one of us needs to read this amemendent to see if this really helps us or hurts us.   There are quite a few locations you can find the information just do a GOOGLE search for for Florida Property Tax!!!

by Malcolm Gladwell

 

I picked this little gem up at the airport in Houston Texas. The book is based on the concept that little things can make a big difference!!

 

To introduce this concept, Gladwell starts by talking about how Hush Puppies shoes became hip in the clubs. The Hush Puppies brand was going to be phased out by its maker, Wolverine, because of poor sales (less than $30,000 per year). But the brand was about to have a resurgence that was mind boggling. At a fashion shoot two executives from Hush Puppies were told that their shoes were all the rage in Manhatten and Soho with the club crowd. The only place your could find these shoes were at mom and pop retailers. Fashion designers were calling asking for new pairs of the shoes for fashion shoots and runway shows. By 1995 the company was selling 430,000 pairs of shoes. This is proof that you never know what is going to take you to the top!!!  A few kids in Soho launched world wide demand for a pair of shoes.

I highly suggest you get this book. The rest of it is a great read and you will be able to use many different parts of it in your own business.
