Greetings!
Happy New Year to each of you and
blessings as we come to the end of the twelve days of Christmas. Tuesday was
Epiphany, the day the church officially celebrates the arrival of the wise men
at the home of Joseph and Mary. On that day they worshiped the Son of
God by honoring him with significant gifts. I hope that we all recognized
this moment as an invitation to each of us; to worship God by daily offering
our best in His service!
This Sunday we come to the third in our
series of topics that weight us down...anger. With the current pressures of
a failing economy, unemployment, housing, and on and on I think one of the
emotions that may be more prevalent in all our lives is anger. The
unfortunate side effect is that it can become all consuming. Please join
us this Sunday for worship as we talk about this tough issue and think through
Biblical principles on how to deal with it so that it does not rule our lives,
our relationships, and our homes. Worship is at 9am and 10:30am. If
you know someone who is struggling with this topic, maybe this is the prime
opportunity to invite them to join us. Until Sunday, may you experience
the peace of Christ each day!
Jim

Recycling
Did you get a new
cell phone for Christmas? After printing that holiday letter, did you
have to replace your printer ink cartridges? Bring your old cell
phones and empty ink cartridges to church. Recycle them in the box in
the youth room. Proceeds benefit the youth.

Love INC Ministry Opportunity
Help us help Love INC move the items in their storage area. The items are being moved a short distance, but we need as many folks as possible with trucks that can help us move them. They are currently housed in the lower level of the building next to the Clay County Health Department (just north of us) and are moving to suite 300 of our building. If you can help, please plan to join us at 2:00pm this Sunday. We thought it would be helpful if we unloaded the empty bins in our trailer and used the trailer as well. If you can help us unload the trailer right after church, we'd really appreciate it. If anyone is available to drive the trailer Sunday afternoon to help with the move, please let Tiffany know. We have keys to the trailer and just need a driver.

Small GroupsThrough worship we draw
closer to God. Through small groups we
draw closer to one another and develop relationships and grow spiritually. Are you ready to take the next step in your
faith?
Women's Small Group -
Wednesdays at 6:30pm beginning January 14, at Debbie Barrett's home, 3540 N.
Chelsea Ave., KCMO. They will be
studying Victoria Osteen's book, Love Your Life.
"I am excited to tell you about Love Your Life.
I truly believe women who read this book will be empowered and begin to realize
their true higher purpose. Make no mistake: Happiness is achievable. My new
book outlines a simple plan for saying "yes" to life's bountiful
gifts and allowing them to enrich you in every aspect of your life as a mother,
sister, daughter or friend.
I am confident reading this book will help you embrace the choices in front of
you each day; whether it's learning how to balance career, family and
relationships, or coping with matters of faith and health. Be encouraged,
accept the gift of who God created you to be and discover how to live happy,
healthy and whole. "
Believing for God's Best
