Campaign Chairman Bill Davies' Report

The 2011 United Way Campaign is in full swing and we have reached 40% of our $3.25 million goal. We are off to a great start! We have a lot of hard work in front of us but would like to celebrate some of our early successes.

  •  At BB&T, I challenged our team this year and am proud to announce that we have 100% employee participation.  A big thank you to Pat Gordon for her efforts in leading the campaign.
  • Challenger held their first ever employee campaign and raised close to $3,000.
  •  Dalton Utilities' campaign saw an increase of 16%. Kay Phillips, John Thomas, and Jeremy Talley led the campaign which featured a separate leadership meeting and agency speakers from United Way agencies, Friendship House and RossWoods.

Several companies have participated in United Way agency tours. While on these tours employees are able to see firsthand the need in our community. Employee's who participate in tours are able to share with their co-workers the impact that every financial contribution makes. Please contact John Relaford if your company would like to schedule an agency tour.

We would also like to thank all of our Pacesetter Campaigns: Alliance National Bank, Andersen Company, BB&T, Capistran, Cycle-Tex, Dalton Utilities, Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce, Dalton Whitfield Bank, Georgia Power, Global Environmental, Hamilton Health Care System, Lenmar Chemical Corp, Murray County Schools, Shaw Industries, United Way of NWGA, and UPS.
