Shaw Industries' Campaign Kicks-Off
This week, Shaw Industries celebrated the start of their employee campaign. Chuck McClurg (pictured, left), 2011 Shaw United Way Chairman, announced the company's goal of raising $1.38 million. Amanda Burt, United Way of NWGA President (center) and Vance Bell, President & CEO of Shaw Industries (left) joined over 100 Shaw executives, directors, and managers in the theatre at Plant 72 to learn more about the community needs and how Shaw employees impact the lives of their friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
School Supply Drives!
Melissa Helmes (pictured) dropped off sc hool supplies that were donated by Shaw Promotional Goods, Plant 35.
The United Way Young Leaders Society also donated school supplies for local schools. These donated supplies were given to Social Workers in area schools to be distrubted to deserving children in our community. |

Boardwalk Applications Due August 15th | |
Registration is open for United Way's BOARD WALK program!
The 2011 BOARDWALK program will be held Wednesday, August 24th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at United Way of Northwest Georgia.
BOARDWALK identifies, recruits, and connects volunteers to leadership and policy making positions in nonprofit organizations in Northwest Georgia.

Superhero Sprint
The United Way Superhero Sprint will be held September 13th, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Dalton Freight Depot. This one-mile race will cover the course of the Peacock Trail in downtown Dalton.
