| Shaw Employees Tour United Way Partner Agencies | |
Shaw Industries runs a very effective United Way Campaign, mobilizing thousands of local employees to give, advocate, and volunteer in Northwest Georgia. Over 163 employees on Shaw Teams from local facilities recently to toured United Way partner agencies to learn more about the impact of their donations. Carol Cook, Shaw Plant #98, was impressed by the level of service provided by RossWoods, a United Way funded program. "I learned that RossWoods is wonderful for Dalton, especially for people who have parents who need special care during the day. It is a secure, safe place with beautiful surroundings. You know your loved ones are taken care of," said Ms. Cook.
In addition to learning about United Way's community funded programs, employees also learned that over 3,500 volunteers are part of United Way's annual impact. Maria G. Garcia, also from Shaw Plant 98, was amazed by "the sheer power of volunteerism in our community." If your company would like to schedule employee tours to learn more about our community partners, please email john.relaford@ourunitedway.org. |
