Child Reading

Did you know 1 out of 3 children in Whitfield County live in poverty? Research shows that education is often the only means to breaking the cycle of poverty. Developing early reading skills is critical in a child's future success.

Every year on June 21, United Way invites all Americans to LIVE UNITED and take action in their communities. This year United Way of Northwest Georgia, in partnership with First Book, is working to ensure that children in Northwest Georgia have access to new books.

For every $2.50 donation a child from a low income family will have access to a new book and a hope for a brighter future. Members of the community can partner with United Way to reach the goal of $2,000. Visit our Virtual Book Drive.

We all win a child succeeds. Join us as we work to improve the lives of our children in Northwest Georgia.
