CYBERSECURITY Programs
It had often been assumed that cyber criminals were creating viruses in
order to seek fame. Over the last few years, an ominous change has swept across
the Internet. The threat landscape once dominated by the worms and viruses
unleashed by irresponsible hackers is now ruled by a new breed of
cybercriminals. Cybercrime is motivated by fraud, typified by the bogus emails
sent by "phishers" that aim to steal personal information. The tools
driving their attacks and fueling the blackmarket are crimeware - bots, Trojan
horses, and spyware.
Cybersecurity is the protection of data and systems in
networks that are connected to the Internet and is needed to combat cyber
crime. George Mason University TechAdvance offers training in the areas of
computer security through these popular certification programs -
An article on CNNPolitics.com dated October 2, 2009, states "The Department of Homeland Security will hire up to 1,000 cybersecurity
experts over the next three years to help protect U.S. computer networks." Now is the time to consider advancing your cyber security education! Contact Jay at 703-993-1551
