Rebate Issuance

As you know, in 2011, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) began requiring health insurers to calculate and report the percentage of premium they spend on medical care. This percentage is often referred to as medical loss ratio (MLR).
On July 2, 2012, Coventry Health Care will begin issuing any rebates due to our customers. All rebates due to customers will be issued before August 1, 2012. Please remember that the rebate calculations are complicated and take numerous data points into account. Not every customer will receive a rebate. In the commercial market segment, we will be issuing rebates to small group HMO and POS clients.
