Important Notice

As you may be aware, Southern Health Services, Inc. has been a subsidiary of Coventry Health Care, Inc. since 1994 and we have used the Southern Health name because it was familiar to our local clients, members, and providers. However, Coventry Health Care has made the decision to use a single name across the country and Southern Health Services, Inc. is now Coventry Health Care of Virginia, Inc. This change will become official on July 1, 2012.
What does this mean to your clients?
We will be sending a notice about this change to our clients in their September premium invoices. The notice will include the following information:
- There are no changes to benefits.
- Beginning on July 1, 2012 all new ID cards will be issued with our new logo.
- Providers will continue to accept ID cards with the current logo on them until new cards are issued.
- All members will have a new ID card by the end of the first quarter of 2013.
- Members can continue to call the same toll-free Member Services number listed on their ID cards.
- This change does not affect our list of participating providers.
- A list of in-network providers and pharmacies, as well as prescription drug lists and other important plan-related documents, can be found on www.chcva.com (formerly www.southernhealth.com).
- Our new name will be reflected in various written and electronic materials in the coming months. However, we will only issue new materials when changes are made to your plan with Coventry Health Care of Virginia, Inc.
They will also be sent a Name Change Endorsement. They should save it with the current Group Application and Group Agreement/Policy. If you have questions, please call your account representative. |
New Email Address for Broker Liaison

Please note that we have a new email address for our broker liaisons: CHCVA_BrokerServices@cvty.com.
Our broker liaisons are your point of contact when you:
- are unable to open/access your Online Commissions statements.
- need to be set up for EFT and/or Online Commissions statements going forward.
- did not receive a Paper or Online statement and need a copy for the current month.
- have tax, 1099, or Million Dollar Round Table questions.

Safe Senders

If you are not receiving emails notifying you that a new commission statement is available, please check to make sure that the email address coventrycommissions@cvty.com is in your "safe senders" list. Do not send an email to this address. Instead, call 800.438.4029 for any questions regarding commissions.
