We Are Coventry Health Care
|
You know us as a locally focused health plan. We offer you and our employer groups the advantage of our presence in the community:
- In Virginia for over two decades
- Benefit plans specifically designed to meet the needs of Virginia employers
- Offices in Charlottesville, Richmond, and Roanoke
- Direct Access to participating specialists without a referral
- Local account managers, provider relations, medical directors, and health services staff
- Nearly 12,000 participating providers
- 132 hospitals
You should also know us because of our parent company, Coventry Health Care, Inc. Coventry is a national managed health care company based in Bethesda, Maryland. Because Southern Health is a part of Coventry, members have access to:
- National transplant network
- National pharmacy network
- National PPO network for out-of-area plans
- Website that gives members 24/7 access to many services, including benefit information, claims information, and ID cards
To put more focus on our national reach, you will begin to see us use the Coventry Health Care logo on more of our materials. For example, new or renewing members as of July 1 will see a Coventry logo on their member ID card. Here are samples of ID cards. Our marketing materials will feature the Coventry Health Care logo more often, and you may see our business cards and letterhead with the Coventry Health Care logo. From time to time, we may direct you to our corporate website for information. We will ask you to select a health plan from the home page. At those times, you should select Virginia to be directed to the Southern Health site. You know us as Southern Health, but we are Coventry Health Care as well.
