 C3 - Coventry Consumer Choice
More employers are turning to consumer-directed health care (CDHC) options. To offer a better experience, Coventry Health Care created C3-Coventry Consumer Choice.
Exciting new features
C3 expands on previous CDHC options, presenting the following new features:

Sending a Secure Email
Some brokers have been emailing protected health information (PHI) to Coventry without using an encryption tool. Brokers who have signed a Business Associate Agreement are in breach of their contract for sending an email containing PHI insecurely.
Coventry uses an encryption tool called cvtysecure. If Coventry sends brokers information through cvtysecure, the brokers are able to log in to that website and send Coventry back a secure response.
The first time you receive a secure email, you are asked to register at the Secure Message Center. Registration is a one-time, quick and easy process. Look on the Broker Kit page of the website next week for detailed instructions on sending a secure message.
If brokers do not have access to an encryption tool to send secure email, they can fax the data. Faxing is an acceptable and secure method to send PHI.

Look to Virginia
Quite often, information that comes from Coventry Health Care (such as commission information or Coventry WellBeing material) directs you first to the corporate website (www.coventryhealth.com), then asks you to select your health plan from the plan locator.
To more accurately reflect our service area, the plan locator for Southern Health is Virginia. When directed to the Coventry Health Care website, be sure to select Virginia from the plan locator, and you will be redirected to the Southern Health website.

Commission Statements Go All Electronic
Just a reminder that effective January 1, 2008, Coventry no longer issues paper commission statements. You will continue to receive an email notification from us when a commission statement is available online for you to review. More information is available in the Broker Kit on our website.
Effective April 1, 2008, Southern Health will make EFT payments monthly, and payments by check will be quarterly. Sign up for EFT payments and get your money more quickly! An EFT Authorization Form is available on our website. | |
