Your participation in these events can make a big difference in the lives of many here in our community. All net proceeds from this year's events will be donated equally to these wonderful charities. Every dollar raised will provide local youth access to supervised development programs through the Boys & Girls Clubs and support programs for children with cancer and children who have a parent or grandparent with cancer through The Wellness Community. By becoming a sponsor for this worthwhile event you will gain recognition for your contributions as well as considerable exposure for supporting programs for our local children.
In addition to sponsors we are looking for silent and live auction and raffle items. All raffle
prize donations will be featured and displayed at North Ranch Country Club.
The Wellness Community thanks all of the individuals, families, businesses, and volunteers who helped create a healing space for cancer patients and their loved ones through their support of the Garden of Hope.
The Garden, on the corner of Hampshire Road and Townsgate Road in Westlake Village, is a community-supported space that increases TWCVV's capacity to serve cancer patients and their families through support groups, mind/body programs and educational workshops. Donors sponsored many elements of the garden, including a fountain and tiles on the Tribute Wall of Hope. The names of donors, friends, and loved ones adorn the hundreds of pavers on the walkway. Mayor Andy Fox of Thousand Oaks and Mayor Ned Davis of Westlake Village spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday in support of TWCVV's service to both towns. Board Chair Scott Hansen also spoke at the ceremony, and Danny Fischer, age 17, spoke about how TWCVV helped him and his family throughout his father's battle with cancer.

Drum Circle for Adult Cancer Survivors and Caregivers For years, researchers have studied music-based therapies as a treatment for a wide range of chronic, painful, and emotionally distressing diseases, including cancer. Singing or playing music can be "empowering" for patients who feel victimized by cancer. Group drumming, or "drum circles", is an activity that traces back to ancient civilizations. Just a few of the benefits achieved during a drumming session include stress relief, exercise, self-expression and support from fellow participants all contributing to a feeling of wellness and a sense of community.
