    Holiday Homes Tour

It's hard to believe, but our 19th Annual Holiday Homes Tour is just a month away! The tour will be held Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4 and 5, from 10am to 6pm. Click here to purchase your tickets now online - it's fast, easy, and supports a great cause. (Plus, you get to check it off your Holiday To-Do List before things get crazy!)

We still need volunteers! Volunteering for the tour is a fun way to get behind the scenes, meet people, and support our mission. Click here to fill out an online application or contact Volunteer Coordinator Marilyn Way via email or at 805.379.4777.

No One Should Face Cancer Alone

"There is no price tag for the support I received from The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura. They gave me hope and inspiration weekly that gave me strength to do all that I had to do to recover and offer hope to others. "
    - Liane Olin, TWCVV Participant

During these difficult times, we are called upon to provide more services than ever before. The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura has received a generous challenge grant of $100,000 from the Hugh E. & Marjorie S. Petersen Foundation. The Foundation has challenged TWCVV to raise $100,000 in matching funds by December 31, 2010. Your gift will be matched dollar-for dollar. Support the challenge now!

    Striking The Balance Podcast
    Breakaway from Cancer Logo

Leaders and thinkers in the cancer community came together in June at the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting, the world's largest cancer meeting, for a dynamic discussion on expanding and improving cancer care, from prevention through survivorship.

You can listen to this dynamic roundtable discussion through a series of podcasts at Amgen's Breakaway From Cancer® website. Click here to learn more.

The final podcast presents 10 mandates for change drafted and ratified by the partner organizations, which will form a roadmap for future advocacy efforts on behalf of people living with cancer.

Breast Cancer Survivors Change the Cancer Experience
    MAP Logo

Breast cancer survivors know that breast cancer is more than just treating the disease. More research is needed to determine the social and emotional needs of breast cancer survivors, where there are gaps in care and how we can fill those gaps.

We at TWCVV are encouraging you to join a new movement called The Cancer Survivor Registry: The Breast Cancer M.A.P. (Mind Affects the Physical) Project. Anyone diagnosed with breast cancer, whether newly diagnosed, in treatment, or years past treatment is encouraged to join the movement!

Participating is easy. All it takes is a few simple steps:
    1. Visit www.breastcancerregistry.org and create an account!
    2. Once a year, answer questions about your experience with breast cancer to keep us up to date.
    3. Enjoy access to M.A.P. Project updates, breast cancer news, existing support resources for breast cancer survivors and opportunities to take part in other studies throughout the year.

Already a part of the Breast Cancer M.A.P. Project? Update your profile today by going to csc.breastcancerregistry.org.
