    Breakaway Ride with Patrick Dempsey
    Patrick Dempsey

Cycling enthusiasts and fans are invited to join Patrick Dempsey in the "Breakaway Ride presented by Specialized," on April 11, in conjunction with the upcoming 2010 Amgen Tour of California professional cycling race set for May 16-23, 2010.

The ride will raise funds for Amgen's Breakaway from Cancer® initiative, which aims to raise awareness of the continuum of resources available to cancer patients from prevention to education and support to financial assistance and survivorship. The Breakaway from Cancer nonprofit partners include the Prevent Cancer Foundation, Cancer Support Community, Patient Advocate Foundation and National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship.

The 'Breakaway Ride' gives cycling enthusiasts the opportunity to ride the actual route of the 2010 Amgen Tour of California.  Three distances will be offered for each ride to accommodate various skill levels; the longest distance covers the same route that the pros will ride (an entire stage).  Riders will be chip timed and supported. Click here for details and registration.

Not a cyclist or can't make it to the ride? You can help anytime, anywhere by texting BREAKAWAY to 90999 to donate $10 to help families affected by cancer.

    Comedy with Kivi
    Kivi Rogers

This just in! Kivi Rogers will be the featured comic at our Comedy Night on Monday, April 12 at 7pm.

Always the class clown and neighborhood prankster, Kivi Rogers gave up his nine-to-five electronics job after winning his first comedy competition. Since then his star has continued to rise. In 1998 Rogers was nominated for Comedian of the Year by the National Association of Campus Activities. He has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Def Comedy Jam, and Comic View. Rogers has also had guest appearances on such shows as The West Wing, Everybody Loves Raymond, Dharma and Greg, and many more.

Please RSVP via email or by calling 805-379-4777.

    Ta-Da! Magic & Wellness

Thanks to everyone who came to enjoy Daniel's Day of Magic last month. We had a truly magical time with all of you. We want to especially thank Magic Wayne for putting on a terrific show, the National Charity League for providing yummy treats, Daniel's father David Jacoby for attending, and the bunny for being so lap-friendly!

Daniel's Day of Magic was on the front page of The Acorn! Check it out.

We have another Fun Family Event coming up on April 23. Click here for details!
