    Ten Days to Save on Holiday Homes Tour

    The 18th annual Holiday Homes Tour will be held Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday, Dec. 6 from 10am to 5pm.

    UCLA Medical Professor Speaks About "Chemo Brain" Tonight
    Dr. Lorne Label

    Tonight at 6:30pm, Dr. Lorne Label will present "Chemo Brain" at TWC V/V, 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

    Dr. Label will address the forgetfulness and mental fog sometimes experienced by people who have undergone chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and other treatments. He will also review causes and manifestations of "chemo brain" symptoms, current medical research, risk factors, and treatment strategies.

    Dr. Label is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at UCLA and on staff at the UCLA Neurology Clinic and has a private practice in Thousand Oaks called California Neurological Specialists. To RSVP, please call (805) 379-4777.

    Relax Into a Day of Mindfulness

    Current and past Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction participants are invited to a Day of Mindfulness on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 10am to 4pm at TWC V/V, 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

    Spanish Workshop: Cancer Prevention, Treatment & Quality of Life
    Dr. Henry Z. Montes

    Dr. Henry Montes will present a free Spanish-language workshop on Monday, Oct. 26 at 6pm called Cancer: Prevention, Treatment and Quality of Life. This educational workshop will take place at the TWC V/V Ventura Satellite located at the CMHS Cancer Resource Center, 184 N. Brent St., Ventura.     Dr. Montes will give an informal talk about cancer basics and answer participant's questions. Dr. Montes, of Radiation Oncology Centers of Ventura County, practices radiation oncology in Camarillo and Oxnard and is a member of The Wellness Community Latino Advisory Board and Professional Advisory Board.

    Make the Mind-Body Connection on Oct. 27
    Paula Getty-Shearer

    Paula Getty-Shearer will present "Make the Mind-Body Connection" on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 6 to 7:30pm at the CMHS Cancer Resource Center, 184 N. Brent St., Ventura. Please call 805-652-5459 to RSVP.

    Paula will explain how guided imagery works and describe some of its benefits. She will guide the group in relaxation and imagery customized to the needs and concerns expressed by the participants that are present.

    Paula is a Certified Hypnotherapist and has been facilitating this program at The Wellness Community for three years.

    Oct. 29 Reconstruction Workshop Cancelled

    Due to a schedule conflict with the speaker, the Breast Cancer Connection: Reconstruction Options workshop scheduled for Oct. 29 has been cancelled.

    Comedy & Magic Night Nov. 9

    Don't miss magician Peter Morse's spellbinding act on Monday, Nov. 9, from 7 to 8pm at TWC V/V, 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

    Peter, who was born and raised in the Conejo Valley, will perform new comedy and magic routines that have never been seen by the public. Watch as coins bend inside spectators' hands, cards vanish before your eyes, and more. You have to see it to believe it!

    Look Good, Feel Better on Nov. 19

    Women in active treatment for breast cancer are invited to "Look Good, Feel Better" on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 6 to 8pm at TWC V/V, 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

    This workshop will help participants learn techniques to restore self-image and cope with appearance related side effects of cancer treatment. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Please reserve your space by calling 800-227-2345.
