| A Letter from Dr. David Snead (CT'61) |
Greetings to all Cass Tech Alumni.
It is my pleasure to write to you in the September Newsletter. When asked to do so my first reaction was that I really don't have time during this part of the year since I'm busy trying to get our school system, (Waterbury, Ct), up and running, but as soon as I said that, I knew it wasn't the appropriate response.
A Cass Tech graduate always rises to the challenge. That is what we all learned during our matriculation at Cass. We not only learned to rise to the challlenge but to exceed it. Excellence was the standard and if you couldn't cut the mustard you couldn't become a Cass Tech graduate. That is what Cass Tech is all about. No excuses and no alibies, just get the job done and get it done now. As a result, we all learned through the Cass Tech experience that "where there is will there is a way".
Many alumni from Cass have distingushed themselves all over the world not just because of what they studied at Cass but also because they learned how to be dedicated in accomplishing numerous tasks and assignments simutaneously. We had to study harder and take more courses then other HS students in order to achieve a Cass Tech diploma. We were required to meet demanding criteria that were often more difficult and challenging then what we experienced in college. Our lives have been enhanced by this. Cass Tech graduates are successful because of this preperation and work ethic.
Yes, it's one thing to get into Cass and it's another to graduate from Cass. When you do so you are one of the best and don't ever forget it. The challenges and hurdles we met and succeeded meeting at Cass propeled us into bright futures. I am proud of being a Cass Tech graduate and try my best to never forget the lessons leaned there. The most important of course was to never give up and to work to overcome difficulties. A Cass Tech graduate never quits and never stops. We learned to see the big picture, develope a plan and work the plan. It wasn't easy being Green but life isn't either. At least the Cass Tech experience prepared us.
Have a great day and always remember," Cass Tech number one second to none."
