Updated Ford Field Info

Dear Esteemed Cass Tech Alumni,

This year the Cass Tech Alumni Association will partner with Levy Restaurants in concessions food/beverage sales at Ford Field as a fund raising initiative. Proceeds will be split between the CTAA and participating Cass Tech student groups who also participate. We are asking alumni to join in this effort. If you have been looking for a way to become more active with your alumni association, here it is!

Concessions sales are a fun and relatively easy way to raise much needed funds for the many educational and enriching extracurricular activities enjoyed by Cass Tech Students. Adults and students aged 16 and older are welcome to participate. The event schedule at Ford Field began on August 2 with the Kenny Chesney concert. The complete Fall Schedule is available at www.levyrestaurantsnpo.com and include Madonna in concer on November 18 - an event certain to pack the house and provide a great fund raising opportunity!

We will have the option to choose which events or Lions games we will work. Training for all participants is mandatory. Our goal is to have at least 60 trained participants who will take turns working the events to share the load and prevent "burn out", with 16 volunteers working each event. The schedule for the class for RCS Alcohol Training (for volunteers 18 or over serving alcohol) is as follows:

Thursday August 21st- 12:00pm, 3:00pm and 6:30pm
Friday August 22nd- 4:00pm and 7:00pm
Saturday August 23rd- 10:00am

Please make sure to arrive at least a half hour prior to the class starting so that the classes can start on time.

Students must be 18 or older to serve alcoholic beverages or man the cash registers. There is also a course called Creating Legends, which is required of all volunteers. The Stand Leader class is for the adults who will supervise the booths.

Creating LegendsTuesday, August 19th - 6:30 p.m.This class is for any current group members that have not attended as of yet, and for all members of a our new groups coming into our NFP program.

Parking will be in lot 4 (corner of Montcalm and Brush St). If the parking entrance "arm" is down please press the button on the silver call box and let security know you are here for the Levy training. Entrance will be Gate D.

Training Requirements:

Booth volunteer (16 or older): Creating Legends
Booth volunteer serving alcohol/running cash register: Creating Legends and RCS Alcohol TrainingBooth supervisor (CTAA members, faculty, advisors, or parents): Creating Legends, RCS, and Stand Leader

The average student will only be required to take one class. Adults who are not leaders will take two. Adults who will also supervise will take all three courses. The remaining schedule for additional required classes is forthcoming.

If you have children, relatives, or family friends attending Cass Tech currently, this will be a great way to work with them on a rewarding project. You may choose the dates most convenient for you. Please contact me with your name and the date you choose to attend.
