CASS TECH ALUMNI ASSOCIATION THE GREEN SCENE NEWSLETTER |
 |
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY!!! |
Dear Cass Tech Alumni,
This year the CTAA will partner with Levy Restaurants in concessions food/beverage sales at Ford Field as a fund raising initiative. Proceeds will be split between the CTAA and participating Cass Tech student groups who also participate. We are asking alumni to join in this effort. If you have been looking for a way to become more active with your alumni association, here it is!
Concessions sales are a fun and relatively easy way to raise much needed funds for the many educational and enriching extracurricular activities enjoyed by Cass Tech Students. Adults and students aged 16 and older are welcome to participate. The event schedule at Ford Field begins on August 2 with the Kenny Chesney concert. The complete Fall Schedule is available at www.levyrestaurantsnpo.com . We will have the option to choose which events or Lions games we will work. Training for all participants is mandatory. Our goal is to have at least 60 trained participants who will take turns working the events to share the load and prevent "burn out". The schedules for required classes are as follows.
Creating Legends - mandatory for all participants Saturday June 21 - 12:00pm Thursday July 10 - 6:30pm Thursday July 17 - 6:30 p.m.
Stand Lead & Asst. Stand Lead Class Wednesday July 23rd - 6:30 pm Thursday July 24th - 6:30 pm
This class is for all the Leads and Assistant Leads in the group (the rest of your volunteers do not need to attend). This class is designed to show the Leads and Assistants on how to run their stands during an event. This also is a mandatory class and must be attended before you work your first event.
RCS Alcohol Training Class - mandatory for all participants Saturday June 21 - 10:00am and 1:00pm Thursday July 17 - 12:00pm, 3:00pm and 6:30pm Friday July 18 - 4:00pm and 7:00pm Saturday July 19 - 10:00am and 1:00pm
Parking will be at Lot 4 (Gate D at the corner of Brush and Montcalm). Entrance to the building will be through Gate D.
Please send an email to latonja@casstechalumni.org with the subject line reading: Ford Field Volunteer with your name and the date you plan to attend the training sessions. Notice that you will need to attend at least two sessions, or three if you wish to be a stand lead or assistant lead. If you have children, relatives, or family friends attending Cass Tech currently, this will be a great way to work with them on a rewarding project. You may choose the dates most convenient for you.
I can be reached at 313-204-5260 if you have additional questions. We will submit the list to Levy for our group. Thank you in advance for your participation and cooperation.
Yours in the CT Spirit,
