NY Jets take CT Alum with 6th pick
Vernon Gholston 04Congratulations goes to Vernon Gholston, Class of 2004, on being the 6th draft pick with the New York Jets!

Gohlston started playing football for Cass Tech in his sophmore year and played offensive line after being overwhelmed at linebacker. He returned to defense as a senior, and was a major recruit for Ohio State.

CTDAPS: IB Program
CTDAPS moves forward in preparing for an International Baacalaureate (IB) program at Hstoric Cass Tech.  Mr. Don Coleman and his lovely wife journeyed from Washington, DC to attend a meeting concerning the process of implementation of IB schools. Linda McLean, CTDAPS committee member, and Ray Litt took copious notes of information from Mrs. Coleman, former principal of an IB school in Maryland, and Don.  They had lots of good things to tell us.  CTDAPS plans to make a presentation to a local entrepreneur who has indicated an interest in funding a school for DPS. The committee also will be developing contacts with DPS officials to obtain support for this endeavor.
