The Enemy Between My Legs
By Stephanie L. Jones (CT'94)

One in three females and one in five males are sexually abused as children.  However, the effects of sexual abuse extend far beyond the years in which it actually takes place. Drug and alcohol abuse, criminal behavior, low self-esteem, sexual promiscuity, and teenage pregnancy are just some of the results of sexual abuse.  The Enemy Between My Legs goes beneath the surface and reveals the truth about the secret of sexual abuse.  What happens once the victim transitions into teenage and adulthood?  Log on to www.stephanieljones.com
to learn more.

Stars of "Too Hot To Handel"
give Master Class at Cass

Pianist Wizard Alvin Waddles and internationally famous Tenor Rodrick Dixon featured performers in "Too Hot To Handel" came to Cass Tech on Monday October 15 and involved Mr. Hass's orchestra classes in a discussion of the real understanding one must have to be a satisfied and successful artist. Of course, pianist Waddles played the piano with his inimitable improvisational brilliance to the delight of the assembled multitude. The enthusiastic response continued when the amazing tenor, Rod Dixon sang "Comfort Ye My People" from "Too Hot To Handel" with the glowing Bel Canto style he is noted for.

The Cass Tech parent T-shirt held by Mr. Wattles is singularly appropriate, as his daughter is a student at CT. Rod Dixon's parental involvement is not relate to a Cass Tech student, but his comments about the Cass Tech students in the classroom qualifies him to be a foster parent of all the students. These two gentlemen will return to Detroit on December 22, when the Rackham Symphony choir is presenting "Too Hot To Handel" at the Fox. Last year, through the good offices of Comerica Bank, I was able to arrange for 150 students to come to the Detroit Opera House to see the show at a student performance. Given today's economy, I am uncertain that we can make similar type arrangements on On behalf of the Cass Tech alumni Association. I am thanking this dynamic duo for giving of their own time to set our young students on the pathway to satisfying artistic success.
