Dear Harlan,
I need a man's opinion. Does weight "outweigh" confidence? Can a girl who's a plumper size attract a guy, or should she lose the weight first?
Plump
Dear Plump,
Big girls can find lots of love. Did you know that roughly 68 percent of the population is either overweight or obese (according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)? Taking this into account, if you buy into the theory that men look for women who remind them of their mothers (don't tell a man this while trying to date him), and more mothers are overweight, this bodes well for single women who are overweight. The only time weight is a big problem is if you feel that your weight is holding you back. I think it's holding you back, or you wouldn't have to ask me this question. If you were feeling plump and hot, you'd know that you could find a man who likes hot and plump women. When you feel plumpy and frumpy, it's hard to think you're good enough or attractive enough. This is when weight becomes a problem. When you don't think you have a lot of options, and don't feel very wanted, you take whatever you can find. If you feel like no one wants you, you're thrilled when someone does. Even if
that person treats you like garbage. Bottom line: There are plenty of men who enjoy women with bigger curves, but unless you have big confidence to go along with the curves, you'll get into big trouble and bad relationships.
