HS Senior Torn Between Two Schools...

Naked advice button 33

Dear Naked Readers,
I recently got accepted to Oakland University and Alma College, but I can't decide between the two. The university has nearly 20,000 enrolled students, but the college barely has more than my high school's 1600. But this isn't about college size. Alma has been beating down my door with offers on scholarships and even a special event designed to give me even MORE scholarship opportunities! But I really love Oakland, and my mom mentioned something about seeing if Oakland could match (or at least raise) the scholarship opportunities Alma is offering me. It's a difference of $10,000 at the moment. What I wanted to know is if it's okay for me to take my scholarship to the university, show it to them, and ask if they can match it or something like that. Would that work, or would they just tell me to go to Alma instead? I'm not sure, and my mom suggested it (even though she never pursued a typical post-secondary education) so I'm a little skeptical of its success rate.  Would love any help anyone could offer?
