Clearing Up College Stereotypes
Hello, I'm a junior in high school and I was wondering about college "stereotypes." Which types of kids usually attend small, private, not-very-selective colleges? What about mid-sized, public universities? Big-10-type public schools? My dream would be to go to a small-ish private school, but the one I want to go to in particular is highly selective (6,000 student pop.). However, I would have a fair chance at getting into the local state university, which is mid-sized (about 23,000 students). What I'm worried about is what the people would be like there.......I know that the people at the elite private school would be studious bookworms, but what about at public schools? Are they slackers? Druggies? Jocks? Does it depend solely on how selective the schools are?
