Unofficial Girlfriend Wants it to be Official
 Dear Harlan, I met this guy and have fallen head over heels for him. He lives more than 2,000 miles away from me, but it's not that huge of a deal. We can be together throughout the summer. This past summer, we had the time of our lives. The whole summer, we acted just like a couple. I began to think of us as one. Now I'm 2,000 miles across the country again. We text every day for most of the day, and we are closer than ever. But he has made no move to make us "official." He acts like it. I act like it. People assume we are. What's the problem? Why can't he ask me to be his girlfriend?

For a couple who texts everyday, you're horrible at communicating. So, you want it to be official? Stop waiting for him to make it official. Pick up the phone and make an official call. Explain what making it official means to you. Ask him how he officially feels about this. Then make it official. If you're too afraid to have this conversation because you're too afraid of scaring him off, this relationship officially is not as good as you once thought.
