FRIDAY FORUM HELP! ROOMMATE CAN'T STAND ROOMMATE

Hey, Guys,
I've been in college for about two months now and I can't stand my roommate. When we're together in our room, she's civil and it feels like we get along well enough; we don't hang out, though, because she likes to go out and wander around and I prefer staying inside with a book. But when we're apart, I know she talks about me. I hear her talking about her other "friends" behind their backs, so I know that I, since I'm not a friend, can't possibly escape her criticism. I've also seen her reply to people on Facebook talking about how "lame" I am and how I "do strange things in my sleep" (which she's never said to my face). I know people say that you shouldn't worry about what other people think, but I live with this person and it's very upsetting that she has such a poisonous attitude toward me when to my knowledge, I haven't done anything wrong. I have a feeling that since she's never said anything negative directly to me, she's talking about me behind my back to be spiteful. If that's the case, then I'm not certain that I want to have a conversation (or confrontation) with her about her behavior. I definitely don't want to be friends with someone that behaves that way. Should I ignore the problem, since she hasn't actually done or said anything rude to my face? Should I try to transfer rooms when the semester ends?
