HELP ME, HARLAN! UNPROTECTED SEX LEADS TO PREGNANCY SCARE -- NOT A SHOCKER!

Dear Harlan,
Any tips for comforting a girlfriend waiting for her period after she used Plan B and is dealing with college classes, upcoming midterms and other things? We had unprotected sex and we both believe nothing got in afterward (I pulled out while not even close to climax). Although we both also realize it wasn't our best move, we believe we did everything right afterward. She took Plan B within two hours of it all as insurance. I'm trying to tell her that her period will come and that we just have to wait, but it's getting harder and harder.
Impatiently Waiting
Dear Impatiently Waiting,
Your girlfriend might be pregnant. And yes, it might even be twins! Unfortunately there isn't room for a double crib in a dorm room -- talk about poor planning. Think about this the next time you think about going in without protection. To answer your question: She needs to know that no matter what happens, it's going to be all right. This means you need a plan C, D and E - just in case. While waiting, remind her, reassure her and show her how much you love her. The waiting will either bring you closer or push you apart. Also, make a trip to the store and buy a pregnancy test. I'd suggest springing for a digital one - don't cheap out. The digital ones are far less confusing and much easier to read. Some tests can give you results as soon as five days before a missed period (keep mind, not all tests are 100 percent accurate). Assuming she's not pregnant, celebrate, buy some condoms to carry with you, discuss her going on the pill and never be so careless that you ever let this happen again.
