HELP ME, HARLAN! THE FRIDAY FORUM: SERIOUS SOCIAL ISSUES

Dear Everyone,
Well, here's my dilemma: the first week of school, I went to the orientation events and put my shy self "out there" to try and make new acquaintances to turn into friends. When I thought I'd met some cool dude at school who even lived in my residence hall.... I ended up not being so lucky. He turned out to be a stalker, calling me all the time, taping notes to my door, and completely scaring me and my roommate (who he had a crush on). Now, it's the fourth week of classes and I have no friends that I didn't make through my amazing roommate (who is transferring at the end of the semester.) What do I do? I am naturally a very shy person. Furthermore, I don't stay at school as often as normal students because I have a boyfriend to go home to on the weekends. I am seriously panicking about what to do when my roommate moves. I will at that point have ZERO friends and unless I magically become outgoing overnight, I won't have any friends to fall back on.
